Friendly community choir nr Wrexham & Chester

ABOUT THE CHOIR
Holt Village Voices was founded in 2016 by musical director James Sills. This friendly choir has a reputation for it’s fun, uplifting performances which, according to one choir member, are performed ‘without any inhibition!’ They perform a range of a cappella music from around the world including folk, gospel, African and classic pop styles. The choir sings for events in the village, such as Chester Marathon and Bellis’ Picnic & Prom, as well as performances in Chester and Wrexham. They have also raised substantial amounts of money for charities such as Teenage Cancer Trust and the Choir With No Name.

JOINING THE CHOIR
The choir is open-access with no need to audition or read musical notation - everything is taught by ear & recordings of rehearsals can be accessed at home. Whilst the emphasis is on fun and enjoyment, the choir has high musical aspirations and enjoys singing in three/four part harmony. The choir rehearses in Holt on a Monday evenings during term-time and welcomes new members. Contact us for more information.

ABOUT HOLT
Holt is a pretty village in North East Wales, part of the Welsh Marches, and sits on the banks of the River Dee which marks the boundary between Wales and England. It boasts a number of local shops and businesses, including cafes,  two pubs and the ruins of a medieval castle (where the choir often sings on summer evenings!).
